The University of Delaware held an alumni event at the Headquarters for one of their partners (and uniform manufacturer) Under Armour. The Under Armour facility, is pretty enormous and spread out over multiple buildings overlooking the Baltimore Harbour (right across the water from Fells Point).
The event included talks by the president and CEO of Under Armour Kevin Plank and the University of Delaware’s President Patrick Harker. During part of his talk, Plank discussed the humble beginnings of the company Under Armour, which began with him giving out sports shirts, that he personally had tailored to be better fitting, to other student athletes and receiving rave reviews.
Following talks by Plank and Harker, there was a tour of parts of the expansive Under Armour facility. As a Ravens fan, it was nice to see an enormous image of Ray Lewis on one of the storage towers by the harbor. One of the Under Armour performance/training facilities included a gladiator inspired lower level workout pit.
